Call for Symposium
ICTMM 2024 Call for Symposium Session
The International Congress for Tropical Medicine and Malaria (ICTMM) 2024 organising committee invites organisations from academia, government, non-profit organisations, and the commercial sector to propose symposia for inclusion in the congress program. Companies sponsoring a symposium are required to take at least an exhibition booth. (For more information, please contact the Congress Secretariat.)
Submission Requirements:
Symposia Theme
Proposals must align with the theme of ICTMM 2024, "Global Responses and Interdisciplinary Research Towards Eliminating Tropical Diseases."
Future-Oriented Topics
The symposium topics should focus on emerging trends and concepts and should also be aligned with UNSDG goals.
Original Content
Symposia must include original data or concepts presented by field experts to promote broad debate and synthesis.
Clear Objectives
Each submission should define clear objectives and articulate the benefits the audience will gain from attending the session.
Format (90 minutes/ session)
Symposia consist of 15 to 20-minute presentations per speaker, followed by a combined discussion session. Suggested formats include minimum of 5 speakers and 1 or 2 chairpersons per symposium. Speakers may also serve as chairpersons, and alternative formats like moderated debates are encouraged.
Diversity
Symposia proposals featuring speakers and chairpersons from diverse backgrounds, including country of origin, gender, and different disciplinary backgrounds, are highly encouraged and will receive priority during the selection process.
Evaluation
Proposals will be evaluated based on content quality and the credentials of proposed speakers. Submissions lacking speaker names and topics will not be considered.
Submission Deadline
The deadline for symposia submissions is May 15, 2024.
Notification
Accepted symposium results will be announced by June 15, 2024.
Registration
All accepted symposium speakers and chairpersons must register for the congress before July 31, 2024. The organiser is offering group registration of 10 paying participants to get 1 complimentary registration.
Abstract Submission
Speakers are required to submit an abstract through the online abstract submission system.
Terms and Conditions:
Submission Authorisation
The person submitting the symposium proposal must be either the chairperson or one of the speakers for that symposium.
Congress Registration
Submitters must complete their congress registration before submitting their proposal.
Final Selection
The Scientific Committee's selection of accepted symposia is final.
