On behalf of the Board of the International Federation for Tropical Medicine, I am delighted to invite you to attend the International Congress for Tropical Medicine and Malaria (ICTMM) in Kuching, Sarawak, Malaysia in 2024.
ICTMM2024 follows the highly successful congress held in Bangkok in 2022 and will be the next in a long series of congresses dating back to 1913. The great attraction of the ICTMMs is that each congress is hosted in a different country so that the ICTMMs are truly international in focus and venue. We are greatly looking forward to meeting on the island of Borneo and joining with our Malaysian hosts in 2024.
This 2024 congress will be the first one held in Malaysia. Kuching is a small city but is well connected with the rest of the world. We are excited to endorse this congress organised under the auspices of the Malaysian Society for Parasitology and Tropical Medicine and led by Professor Dr Siti Nursheena Mohd Zain. Prof Zain and her highly enthusiastic and professional team promise to bring together an exciting scientific program held in a beautiful part of the world.
ICTMM2024 will provide the ideal venue for over 2000 delegates to discuss the latest advances in the wide disciplines of tropical medicine and of malaria. The organising committee have already laid the foundation for a successful congress, to be held in the Borneo Convention Centre Kuching (BCCK) in Kuching city. The congress team have already gathered strong support for this congress, and I am confident that they will deliver an outstanding congress.
Do plan to put the International Congress for Tropical Medicine and Malaria 2024 in Kuching City on your congress agenda for 2024. I look forward to meeting you there and to join with you in a rewarding and exciting congress.

In 2024, the next installation of 21st International Congress for Tropical Medicine & Malaria (ICTMM 2024) will be held in the beautiful city of Kuching, Sarawak, Malaysia.
We are honored to be chosen to host this prestigious event and look forward to hosting high-impact conversations and knowledge exchange on the topic of parasitology and tropical medicine. On behalf of the Malaysian Society of Parasitology and Tropical Medicine, we thank the International Federation for Tropical Medicine (IFTM) board members for their trust and support.
This event will be conjointly organized with the 60th Malaysian Society of Parasitology of Tropical Medicine conference and the 10th Asean Congress of Tropical Medicine and Parasitology (10th ACTMP). This event also aptly coincides with the 60th Diamond Jubilee celebration of MSPTM, marking a significant milestone of progress, growth and success and a time to reflect on the accomplishments of the past, celebrate the present, and look forward to a brighter future.
We are confident that ICTMM 2024 in Kuching will provide a unique destination and platform for scientists, researchers, and medical professionals from around the world to come together, share their knowledge and expertise, and contribute to the advancement of tropical medicine and parasitology.
The congress theme “Global Responses and Interdisciplinary Research Towards Eliminating Tropical Diseases” emphasizes the importance of global cooperation and collaboration in the fight against tropical diseases and the need for a multi-disciplinary approach to achieve the common goal of tropical disease elimination.
We are carefully curating an exciting and comprehensive program that will cover a wide range of topics related to tropical medicine and parasitology, including the latest research and developments, as well as practical solutions and best practices. We have also arranged a variety of social and cultural activities that will give you the opportunity to experience the rich and diverse culture of Sarawak and Malaysia.
